Pregnancy #2 Let’s do this!
So pre-mama-life Raven had intended of dropping from 172lbs to 145lbs before pregnancy and doing it again between pregnancies. Well that didn’t happen. I got pregnant mostly by surprise before really losing more than 5-10lbs, and am now up to a shocking 225lbs – I NEVER thought I’d EVER allow myself to get over 200lbs (175lbs was my pre-baby heaviest) so it’s been hard accepting this body.
For X’s pregnancy I craved nothing but meat and sugar and was in fact disgusted by veggies. I over indulged in bacon, smoked meat, chicken wings, chocolate, Timmies, waffles and general crap. Pre-pregnancy I was a full blown vegetarian with vegan tendencies (avoided most dairy aside from goat cheeses and minimized my egg intake). Since then I haven’t really gotten back on track. I’d say I’m only 5% vegan 80% vegetarian with 15% giving into meat cravings. That’s also hard for me. *on a side note X is a great eater luckily but he still hates veggies*
Well it’s my second and last pregnancy now (should we decide we can afford a third child which I really hope we someday can, we will adopt an older child but that’s for another blog). Luckily for this little one only Raven seems to crave sugar in my regular amount so it’s manageable. This baby for a while craved a lemon every day. Now, I’d say fruits and veggies is mostly what I crave and again…chicken wings. This pregnancy the cravings haven’t really been that bad. Oh except for lobster. This kid has expensive taste. Everytime I think of a lobster roll or lobster grilled cheese from MLT DWN at the rideau centre I can no longer think of anything else.
Back to weight stuff…I have let go of my expectations and set a new goal: whatever I have to give up financially to make it work, starting hopefully 6 months after baby #2 (read: this time next year) I will hire a personal trainer to work with me 2-3x a week. Not through Goodlife because they’re hella expensive but hopefully one with a GL membership so we can train there on the DL. Or if we as planned have our house by then maybe we’ll just do bodyweight indoor stuff when the weather is not nice. I know I personally cannot lose this weight on my own. I don’t have the motivation or drive and I hate the gym. I love working out outdoors but I need someone other than me to be accountable to and to watch me to make sure I do things correctly (as I am incredibly clumsy and have no coordination whatsoever).
